Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all purchasing activities, as well as defining jobs for outside or contractor services.

Other responsibilities include negotiating materials prices, identifying and executing opportunities for cost reduction, expediting orders and executing updated shipping details on purchase orders.

This role requires proactive and continual contact with vendors, Parkline teams, project managers and purchasing agents.
You’ll ensure they have the information they need to best serve our customers.

Responsibilities 

• Negotiating material prices, forecasting prices and providing market update information.
• Defining contractor and outside service jobs.
• Creating purchase orders.
• Deciphering variance reports.
• Manage multiple inventories in multiple locations.
• Creating part numbers.
• Setting up shipping and delivery for purchased items.
• Controlling inventory, investigating shortages and expediting orders.
• Reviewing customer specifications and matching products with those specifications.
• Determining causes of errors.
• Requesting quotes.
• Advising and following up on delivery dates.
• Tracking and expediting the purchase orders from various suppliers.
• Following up on purchase orders in process by confirming and communicating expected delivery dates.
• Expediting material for various departments.
• Tracking all information from vendors on estimated shipping dates (ESD) and updating information in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) System (Syteline) in a timely manner.
• Receiving material in ERP System (Syteline).
• Providing information about customer service issues pertaining to delivery and availability of material to Project Managers and Purchasing agents.
• Working well with others, taking direction well and executing tasks efficiently.
• Examining process improvement opportunities and displaying problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Good communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in an office environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling.
• Must possess a willingness to learn.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently based on workload.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of ASTM A653 & A792
• Knowledge of ANSI A250 (SDI-100)
• Knowledge of ANSI/BHMA 156
• NFPA 80
• Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
• Customer Service experience.
• Purchasing experience.

The Blast Operator and Painter is responsible for supporting the blast/paint department in Parkline’s Structural Fabrication Plant.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of the Met Fin Shot Blast Machine, blasting all structural steel and miscellaneous parts.
• Responsible for the industrial painting of structural steel, doors and miscellaneous parts.
• Operation and maintenance of the industrial spray booth.

CAD Operator

Parkline engineers to order, manufacturing and integrating metal building for a variety of uses and industries. We take on modular and site-build projects all over the country.

CAD Operators use our computer software (AutoCAD) to produce drawing for a myriad of building projects.

The CAD Operator is responsible for creating and designing AutoCAD drawings, producing layout plans, elevations and part drawings.

Responsibilities

• Producing layout plans, elevations and part drawings in AutoCAD.
• Preparing construction drawings for approval, production and final submittal.
• Coordinating and communicating with engineers, designers and other CAD operators.
• Interpreting concepts, specifications and drawings to develop construction documents.
• Conceptualizing and creating drawings quickly through verbal communication and hand sketches.
• Completing orders on time to maintain the customer delivery schedule.
• Revising and modifying engineering red line drawings.
• Back-checking and reviewing other AutoCAD drawings.
• Developing AutoCAD models from customer drawings.
• Creating CAD blocks and maintaining library for use with department standards.
• Specifying dimensions, materials and procedures, as well as drafting technical details.
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors and the administrative team.
• Working well with others, taking direction well and executing tasks efficiently.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering, construction and parts drawings.
• Associate degree – or equivalent – technical training and/or 3 to 5 years of experience working with AutoCAD systems in a manufacturing or professional environment

Material Handler/ Material Packaging - Eleanor, WV

Position Overview

The material handler will be responsible for packing and/or crating completed material. This will include labeling of all boxes and crates with correct information, completing all required paperwork, and assisting with inventory control of all stock fabricated parts. The employee will be reporting directly to the Logistics Manager. Overtime will be required in this position from time to time as business needs change.

Position Overview

Responsible for the erection of Parkline buildings to be shipped to various customer sites. This position will be a temporary position, with the possibility to move to a permanent position.

Job Functions

  • Installs all components of buildings; including but not limited to HVAC units, windows and doors
  • Erection of Parkline buildings at the Eleanor WV plant
  • Read and understand prints and bill of materials
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed and all parts are shipped with building
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes and manlifts
  • Loading and unloading of building materials
