Systems Project Estimator

Parkline engineers to order, manufacturing and integrating metal building for a wide variety of uses and industries. We execute modular and site-build projects all over the country.

The Systems Project Estimator is responsible for preparing and coordinating the preparation of complete PDC estimates on large and complex projects, as required by customer documents. This person is responsible for assisting with order entries and managing the transition to the assigned Project Manager. They must communicate estimated job or customer concepts to a Project Manager. A background in electrical estimating is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emails and phone calls from new and existing customers.
• Review and evaluate requests for estimates on small and complex quotes.
• Obtain project information related to the scope of work, the time frame needed and any other pertinent information related to the job.
• Receive purchase orders from customers and create orders.
• Review PO against the proposal for accuracy. review critical estimated items against customer specifications and determine any special drawing/invoicing/shipping requirements and notes on the order.
• Review specifications and drawings, gathering information needed for an accurate quote for the job.
• Once the review is completed, prepare and place the quote in Parkline’s Database, entering all customer information and other information related to the job.
• Obtain freight rates on all jobs.
• Release purchase orders to Customer Service/Planning.
• Assist with or perform electrical estimates for assigned projects.
• Create or work with the electrical design team to determine the optimal building layout while meeting all code requirements.
• Develop consistent standards for building and electrical estimating.
• Manage working schedules to ensure estimate due dates are met.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in an office environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling.
• Must possess a willingness to learn.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently based on workload.
• Leadership – ability to complete major job tasks with little department management oversight.
• Customer Service – responding promptly to customer needs, soliciting customer feedback to improve service and maintaining confidentiality.
• Communication – speaking clearly, persuasively, and professionally. Editing own work and the work of others for accuracy.
• Planning/Organizing – prioritizing and planning work to ensure efficiency.
• Quality – demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality.
• Adaptability – ability to multi-task and adapt to frequent changes, delays or unexpected challenges with customer quotes/projects.
• Dependability – demonstrating positive work ethic, leadership ability, discretion, initiative and working independently to get the job completed.
• Strong working knowledge of the NEC/NFPA.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, one-lines, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Auto CAD (2d) 3D is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• The ability to obtain certain cost via the internet
